Passion & Experience

Dr. Rishita’s expertise in laser dentistry and passion for infant oral health have come from her experience in providing care for thousands of infants, toddlers and children with feeding difficulties over the last decade of her professional life. She is one of the few pediatric dentists in the country who has achieved Advanced Laser Proficiency Certification and Mastership Status from the Academy of Laser Dentistry as well as Breastfeeding Specialist Certification from Lactation Educational Resources.  

Her service as the chief resident and visiting faculty at Children’s National Medical center, the Council of Clinical Affairs for American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and as a part of the Examination Committee of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, has given her a unique opportunity to have a positive influence on her profession. Her publications can be found in peer reviewed journals on topics of pediatric dental care for patients with special healthcare needs, behavior guidance, esthetic dentistry, pain management and lasers in dentistry.

Teacher, Leader & Coach

Dr. Jaju founded the Pediatric Laser Academy to support her fellow pediatric and general dentists, pediatricians, lactation consultants, speech pathologists and other allied healthcare professionals. She and her team provide live and virtual training sessions, webinars and podcasts to introduce the benefits of laser applications in medical and dental fields. Her In-office, hands-on and over the shoulder, live infant frenectomy training has been a particular favorite for doctors and team members alike.

home life

Dr. Rishita and her husband are both proud UGA bulldogs who adore their son and their 2 Maltese doggies named Kaju and Kulfi. They have traveled together all over the world and have visited every continent (except Antarctica).

Infant Laser Frenectomy Training Course

What to Expect

This comprehensive Infant Laser Frenectomy Course is designed to provide a highly focused, in-office, live patient, over the shoulder observation course for a doctor and two team members. The advanced course is tailored to incorporate all phases of the infant patient care cycle. 

Dr. Jaju and her infant care team will share their step-by-step process, starting from successful data gathering, evaluation during in-person as well as virtual consultations, demonstration of best laser use techniques, and learning what strategic guidance can be provided to parents during follow-up visits at different stages of healing. The course will cover diagnosis and treatment planning for lip, cheek (buccal) and tongue ties, as well as case management of a variety of infant ages (0-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-12months) will be demonstrated.

The didactic portion of the training will take a deep dive into the discussion of diagnostic criteria for all restricted Tethered Oral Tissues, considerations for optimal treatment timing, collaborative care approach, and management of simple to complex cases. The hands-on (simulated tissues) session will review Water Laser techniques, preferred tips and settings, as well as practice positioning of the doctor and team member for effective access/visibility.

Reston, VA is conveniently located less than 5 miles from the Dulles International Airport, and less than 25 miles from the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. There are also two different hotels within walking distance of Smile Wonders: The Westin Reston Heights and the Sheraton Reston Hotel

There are many dining, shopping, and event attractions in the area, and the Reston Town Center is a great place to explore!

Refund And cancellation policy

You may register up to the date of the course, if there is space available. Pediatric Laser Academy of Smile Wonders reserves the right to cancel or reschedule courses 30 days or more in advance of the scheduled course date. Any personal expenses incurred due to course cancellation / rescheduling are not reimbursable. Course registration fees for any course cancelled will be refunded. For any course that is rescheduled, you may request a refund within 30 days of notice of reschedule, and we will refund your registration fee. You may cancel your course registration up to 30 days prior the course start date for a full refund. You may cancel your course registration up to 10 days prior to the course start date, however a 30% administrative fee will be assessed. You also have the option of applying your course registration fee to a future course (course credit). Course credit must be used within 1 year from the original course date. Cancellations 10 days or less prior to the course start date will not be eligible for any type of refund.
